Meet the chef & owner:

Nalin Mehra

Chef Nalin was born and raised in New Delhi, India. He knew at the age of 11, that he was passionate about cooking, and decided that he was going to pursue it for a living.

Learning from the best mentors at George Brown in Toronto, Nalin acquired his formal training in culinary management and went on to specialize in Italian and French cooking over the years. He gained invaluable experiences by working in some of Toronto’s finest restaurants & steak houses, as well as Mirador Di Ulia ,a Michelin Star in San Sebastián, Spain.

His innate love for Indian food and the desire to cultivate unique blends of spices and flavors across regions of India, is evident in every bite of what you taste.

In 2022, he took this creativity and started his own brand; Gully Boyz, which had an overwhelming response. This soon led to the opening of a second location - “Gully”, a sit down restaurant and cocktail bar located in the heart of downtown Toronto.

Thus, Gully is an amalgamation of Indian flavors, presented in a western style. Locals have come to appreciate the high quality ingredients and explosion of flavors, making it a taste desirable to everyone in a metropolitan city like Toronto.

Nalin is grateful that he’s able to do something that he loves every single day.
